Q: What type of materials can be put in the Soma Bio machine?
A: Soma Bio was created to solve the food waste management problem. As such, food and other organic wastes that excludes bones, shells and other extremely fibrous materials can be used in the machine.
Q: What do I put in the Soma Bio machine to make it work?
A: The Soma Bio machine gets loaded with woodchips and our proprietary blend of 100% organic microorganisms.
Q: How often does the Soma Bio machine need to be cleaned out? Any other maintenance instructions?
A: Once the Soma Bio machine is set up as directed, there is no need to empty or clean out the machine. It is a one-time set up.
Q: How much waste can be loaded into the machine(s)?
A: Soma Bio has two commercial-sized units. The Holy G/ 99 can manage up to 99kgs/ 220 lbs and the Holy G/70 can manage up to 70 kgs/155 lbs of waste per cycle.
Q: How long is each cycle?
A: Each cycle takes 6 hours, which is the shortest cycle time of any other known organic, aerobic decomposing equipment.
Q: Can the Soma Bio cycle be interrupted once it has started?
A: Opening the machine while it is in operation will stop the cycle. Upon closing, it will restart the cycle. It I best to let a cycle run uninterrupted.
Q: How does the effluent/byproduct get removed from the machine to the end of the cycle?
A: There is pipe on the Soma Bio equipment that allows for easy discharge. A Hose or extender can be attached for custom accommodations.
Q: Is the effluent harmful?
A: NO! In fact, Soma Bio’s effluent is a valuable source of natural probiotic-like organisms with proven effective benefits to land, soil and water treatment and restoration. It also makes a great organic, chemical-free fertilizer for crops.
Q: Should I expect an odor?
A: No! Soma Bio’s microorganism fermentation process is odorless, bug and insect-free.
Q: Does the equipment require permanent or semi-permanent installation?
A: No. The machine is mobile, but not while in operation.
Q: Is the machine hard to use?
A: Soma Bio’s equipment is very simple to use with button commands. Making certain to only add allowable items in the machine allows for few to no technical issues.
Q: What can and cannot go in the Soma Bio equipment?
A: Anything that humans can consume, as well as leaves is safe to go into the machine. Bones, shells, sticks, silverware and other hard items can damage the blades. Items like hair and fur are also not recommended.
